In Volta’s backyard, the Krulli business quarter, akin to a local Silicon Valley, is emerging. Recently, Wise’s headquarters has established itself in Krulli, laying a significant cornerstone for the development of the local technology hub. Together with the seaside promenade, Noblessner marina and Krulli quarter, this once-famous industrial area is transforming into Estonia’s first 15-minute city. The Volta quarter is named after the Volta factory, dating back to 1899. The Volta plant, which has been producing engines, generators and even submarine and military equipment for more than 100 years, has today stepped down to make room for Tallinn ‘s most stylish seaside mixed-use quarter.
