Tallinn’s most stylish seaside residential and business quarter

In the coming years, Volta will develop into a comprehensive residential and business district, featuring a fully functional micro-infrastructure and a strong sense of community. The historic industrial buildings will be revitalized, and they will be complemented by modern A-energy class new builds and high-rises.

This will all be done in Endover’s signature style – ultra-high ceilings, large grid windows, and distinctive industrial architecture. By 2030, nearly 3000 people will live and work here, and a number of businesses will operate, making Volta one of the most significant attractions in North Tallinn.

The Volta quarter is located in the culturally rich and evolving Kalamaja area, nestled between the sea and the old town. Just a few steps away is the sea and the extremely popular Noblessner yacht harbor, not to mention the city-wide famous eateries. In Volta’s backyard, the Krulli business quarter, akin to a local Silicon Valley, is emerging. Soon, Wise’s headquarters will establish itself in Krulli, laying a significant cornerstone for the development of the local technology hub. Together with Noblessner and Krulli, this once-famous industrial area is transforming into Estonia’s first 15-minute city.

Volta Quarter will become a neighborhood characterized by a strong sense of belonging. The heart of Volta community life will be a landscaped park area that runs through the quarter, offering leisure activities for the little ones, adults, and four-legged friends alike. Volta will also have its very own kindergarten where children can conveniently run over the backyard straight from home. Throughout the quarter, parking is directed underground, making the living environment safely car-free.

120+ years of history

The Volta quarter is named after the Volta factory, which began operations on Tööstuse Street as early as 1899. Having produced electric motors, generators, and even submarines and military equipment for more than 100 years, the Volta factory has now scaled back to make room for the new attraction center in North Tallinn.
